For the third year in a row, it doesn’t look like you’ll be able to catch the Daytime Emmys on TV again, but that doesn’t mean you won’t be able to enjoy all the red carpet and award fun.
It’s the 21st century, and if we want to see our favorite daytime dramas honored, we have to do it the modern way and that’s through streaming.
During a Facebook Live event on Tuesday night, Daytime Emmys Senior Vice President David Michaels told Entertainment Tonight Hosts Nancy O’Dell and Kevin Frazier just how fans can catch the awards.
Between Facebook Live, YouTube Streaming, and Twitter’s Periscope platform, there will be a myriad of ways to watch the awards online. If you have a streaming device for your TV, you can even use YouTube to watch on your larger TV screen rather than relying on a laptop or mobile device.
Michaels explained that it’s not that NATAS doesn’t want to air the Emmys on network TV, but no network wants to carry it. But, since there are alternatives, he plans to let the fans enjoy all the glamour, fun, pomp, and circumstance in other ways.
So, as long as you can stream, you can see your favorite stars from Days of Our Lives, General Hospital, The Young and the Restless, and The Bold and the Beautiful.
The last time any station aired the Daytime Emmys was in 2015 when Pop TV carried the ceremony.
