A former co-star paid A Martinez a beautiful tribute of thanks after the star helped out during the recent fire that plagued Malibu.
Leigh J. McCloskey, who had played both Zach and his lookalike Ethan on the soap Santa Barbara, as well as Damian Smith on General Hospital, took to Facebook to thank his old friend for all he did.
“In honor of A Martinez, who showed up during the fires, rolled up his sleeves and asked, “How can I help?” We are forever grateful to our dear friend and personal hero.”
The handsome actor, who also played Mitch on Dallas, went on to detail exactly what Martinez had done to help them during this tragic time.
“He rolled up his sleeves and asked how could he help. He stayed with us, slept here and kept vigil for those long, long hours of tension and no let down.
“A Martinez is not simply a great actor and an even greater friend, he is the most upright man I have known since my father passed. A Martinez is a father, a husband, a community leader and a person of profound moral compass and fortitude.”
He went on to detail more about how Martinez helped and his feelings about him. Soap fans have loved Martinez for decades, having also played Roy on General Hospital, Ray on One Life to Live, Dr. Ramon Montgomery on The Bold and the Beautiful, as well as Eduardo Hernandez on Days of Our Lives.
