Just when it seemed like our favorite soap operas including Days of Our Lives, General Hospital, The Young and the Restless, and The Bold and the Beautiful were set to make a triumphant return, the real world had to shove its way into the spotlight.
Fans have already expressed their frustration over the frequent interruptions from the White House Press Secretary… and now, it looks like politics are about to take center-stage again.
On Wednesday morning, Representative Al Green called for the impeachment of President Trump, citing the numerous obstruction of justice counts that have recently come to light.
While nothing more has developed from that as of yet, it is likely that Sean Spicer (or other news reports) will end up preempting daytime drama as more details come to light.
This could lead to yet another decline in soap opera viewership numbers, along with schedules changing without warning. As always, Soap Hub will keep you updated… and we’ll all be glad when this real-life storyline is over. How do you feel about this situation?
