You know who they are – they’re the soap women who trick their kids, manipulate them, smother them – and they make you grateful for your own mother. Here are some of the worst mothers out there.
The Liar
While Laura (Jaime Lyn Bauer) was not around much for her daughter Jennifer, she couldn’t help it – she was often in a sanitarium. But when she helped Jennifer’s daughter Abigail fake her own death, and kept it from her daughter – that was pretty horrible.
Devastated over her daughter’s “death,” Jennifer fell off the wagon again. She was in such agony, she wasn’t sure how she could go on. Did Laura step in and tell her the truth? Nope!
The Manipulator
Ava (Maura West) claimed that she was looking out for her daughter Kiki on General Hospital (GH) when she switched her volatile boyfriend’s bi-polar meds with placebos.
It started a chain reaction that ended with his death. Now Kiki has learned the truth.
As if it wasn’t bad enough that her mother had slept with him too – now to know that she could do that as destroyed all of the progress the two had made over the years. It’s hard to say it Kiki and Ava will ever get past this.

The No-Show
Ashley, Traci, and Jack have dealt with their mother Dina’s (Marla Adams) absence on The Young and the Restless (YR) for most of their lives. Each one has dealt with the resulting trauma in their own way.
For Ashley, her relationship with her mother is even worse. Several years ago, she learned that the father who was everything to her – wasn’t her biological father. It caused a hurt in her that has never really healed.
The Psycho
Quinn (Rena Sofer) went so far on The Bold and the Beautiful (BB) to make sure her son Wyatt got the girl of his dreams, that she lied, blackmailed, kidnapped, and attempted murder to make it happen.
Of course, some may say that makes her a great mom, trying to make her boy’s dreams come true. Keep in mind – she lied to him his whole life that his father had died.
