Alison Sweeney Tapped to Direct GH Episode Next Week

General Hospital will receive a visit from former Days of Our Lives star Alison Sweeney — but not in front of the camera.

Instead, the legendary soap actress will be going behind the scenes and directing an episode of the popular soap opera. Sweeney shared the news on her Instagram account (see below). This isn’t Sweeney’s first or even second stint as the show’s director. According to IMDB.com, she directed an episode in 2014 and again in 2015.

She also stepped into the director’s chair for several episodes of Days of Our Lives during her time on the show. It wasn’t a surprise to many when she segued behind the camera. As a teen on the soap, she often stayed late or came in on a day off to observe the director — due to her keen interest in the profession.

That interest has certainly paid off.
