This Ain’t Your Grandma’s Soap Anymore – Or Is It?!
 Comments

You used to be able to count on soap operas to go at a slow pace, making it easier for fans who may have had to take a little break, to jump back in and not feel lost.

But the MTV generation, along with our phones, have created viewers who want instant gratification.

So have our favorite soaps kept up with the times and picked up the pace? And if so, are viewers liking it or do they need things to slow back down.

After all, it’s hard for people to watch every single day. Soap Hub wanted to know how viewers felt about soap pacing.

Speed The Heck Up!
After almost 3,500 votes were tallied, an impressive 71% say soaps are still going too slow, and you wish they would speed up these storylines pronto! Stories like who killed Deimos (Vincent Irizarry) on Days of Our Lives (DOOL) feel like forever!

Ditto for fans of The Young and the Restless (YR), the most notorious show for taking things at a snail’s pace. You still can’t believe how many will they or won’t they moments all of the couples have — making up and breaking up again and again.

Just move on already. We’re talking to you, Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) and Victor (Eric Braeden)!

Well Done
It seems that 23% believe that the pacing is just right. You love the way The Bold and the Beautiful (BB) has played out Ridge’s (Thorsten Kaye) downfall with everyone around him and you wouldn’t change a thing about it. You are savoring every moment.

Slow Your Roll, Already
Meanwhile only 6% want things to slow down. General Hospital (GH) has been known to race through plots that probably could have used a little more breathing room, like Scott (Kin Shriner) dealing with his father’s death. It was rushed and you wanted to enjoy Serena more.
