The ABC-Prospect Park Lawsuit Is Finally Over!

After more than three years litigating in the courts, the lawsuit Prospect Park brought against ABC for using old One Life to Live characters on General Hospital has come to an end.

According to Soaps. com, the lawsuit was dropped last week. Prospect Park began liquidating assets over the summer as part of bankruptcy proceedings.

When Prospect Park acquired the rights to All My Children and One Life to Live in order to revive them with new episodes online (a failed venture), the company sued ABC for licensing reasons, as various characters from One Life to Live now appeared on GH with the same actor.

Appearing on General Hospital at the time were Roger Howarth as Todd Manning, Kristen Alderson as Starr Manning, Michael Easton as John McBain, and at one time Kassie DePaiva as Blair Cramer.

Howarth, Easton, and Alderson kept their jobs when the lawsuit started. However, they morphed into new characters. Prospect Park suing ABC is why Howarth suddenly started playing Franco, and Alderson and Easton had new roles created for them–Kiki Jerome and Silas Clay, respectively.

Since then, Hayley Erin has taken over the role of Kiki, as Alderson chose to leave the show. In addition, Silas Clay was killed, but Easton now plays another all-new character, Dr. Hamilton Finn.

With no more lawsuit, could these characters make their way back to GH? Could Alderson make a return as Starr? Also, if Franco goes off the deep end like he seems to be, could Howarth then resume playing Todd, who many say he is already playing with his portrayal of Franco?

And hey, maybe Finn has a twin brother who’s a cop and John McBain can return, giving Easton a dual role? Wouldn’t that be a treat for ABC soap fans?
