On paper, Maxie and Peter have the makings of a General Hospital supercouple. She’s a reformed bad girl, widow of upstanding cop Nathan (Ryan Paevey), single mom, budding fashionista, and spicy minx.
He’s a bad boy at least partially responsible for the death of her husband, nursing a grudge over his troubled childhood and Anna (Finola Hughes), the mother he believes sentenced him to his fate.
She needs to grow up, he needs to be loved. And they both have pretty hair.
So, what’s the problem. Why aren’t Maxie (Kirsten Storms) and Peter (Wes Ramsey) lighting up our screens like other Port Charles pairings, including Maxie’s parents, Felicia (Kristina Wagner) and Frisco (Jack Wagner)?
Are they, despite all of the above, boring? Here’s how over 11000 voted:
You’re Wrong
Nope, 57% of you assert, we still love them. Not only do Maxie and Peter have great chemistry, but the potential drama is off the charts. Can you imagine Obrecht (Kathleen Gatti), Nina (Michelle Stafford), and Mac’s (James J. York) reactions if Maxie and Nathan’s little bundle of joy, James, ends up calling Peter “Daddy?”
Obrecht and Nina are certifiably nuts – they’ve already kept Peter chained to a bed for weeks – and Mac is licensed to carry a gun. This will take Romeo and Juliet to a whole new level – and you’re here for it!
You’re Right
So boring, 43% of the audience confirms. Sure, they’re great on paper but, in practice, they’re just too lightweight. Sure, Peter is supposed to be a tortured soul.
But, he just comes off more like a whiny brat with Mommy issues. OK, so your childhood was rough, grow up, and get over it. And, Maxie, you’re a mom now – to a baby you see more than a couple of times a year. James deserves better. And so do you.
