While actor Tyler Christopher announced his return to General Hospital during the show’s annual fan club weekend last month, no air date has been confirmed.
In fact, Christopher tweeted that he’d be back in fall, but wasn’t sure when. Now, it turns out Nikolas’ face has been taken off the opening GH credits just as we learn how busy the actor has really been.
In May, Christopher won the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor for the first time in his two decades with the soap. Just a few short weeks later, GH announced the actor’s temporary leave of absence. He was quickly replaced by Nick Stabile, but when Nikolas was presumed dead for a second time this summer, we saw the last of Stabile.
Earlier this week, Soap Hub reported that Christopher had been working on a new movie that just wrapped called The New Wife. The actor tweeted pics on the set of his new project, but earlier in the month told Soap Opera Digest he spent his break at home with his wife and kids.
Now, we learn Christopher landed yet another movie role. He will play a character named Jerry Carlyle in the flick, Pretty Broken. According to Soap Opera Digest, Jerry is described as “a former kids cable access TV show star, now a self-proclaimed role model for his used car sales team, who uses his Southern charm and one-liners to win over the ladies.”
[relbar link=”http://soaphub.wpengine.com/general-hospital/will-parker-kristina-reunite-general-hospital-fans-weigh/” text=”Will Parker and Kristina Reunite?”]While there’s been no word that Christopher won’t reprise his role as the Cassadine Dark Prince, we have to wonder if he will ever find the time in his busy schedule. Also, his removal from the credits has fans speculating if he’ll make it back at all.
