The creators and writers of Pine Valley, a nighttime series being developed by former All My Children stars Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos, potentially will tap into AMC’s rich history to tell current tales. Needless to say, fans would love to see Susan Lucci reprise her award-winning role of Erica Kane on the show.
Susan Lucci As Erica Kane Again?
Lucci addresses this possibility on Dr. Oz today. “I know the fans want that very, very much,” Lucci told Dr. Oz. “I still believe that Erica Kane is one of the best parts ever written for a woman. So I certainly hope so. [It] would be wonderful to play her again and with the company of actors, my goodness, I was so lucky.”
The Daytime Emmy winner also chatted about what it’s like to resume some of her previous life now that she’s been vaccinated for COVID-19. “Oh, it was so freeing,” she says. “I was so grateful, just so grateful, to be able to have my first and second shot. I felt that a cloud [had lifted], that we could definitely see the light at the end of the tunnel.”
Lucci says that the word that she feels best describes how she feels is “freeing.” “I knew that indeed I would be freed after a couple of weeks, I could take a flight, which we did, and went down, my husband [Helmut Huber] and I, and visited my mother for the first time [in a long while],” Lucci adds.
The actress also spoke about her 52-year marriage to Huber. “I got lucky, I was young,” Lucci says. “I was very lucky that the man sitting across the table from me made me laugh, and that’s continued. I think that sense of humor has been really terrific, especially when your wife plays the part of being married to 11 different men. He took a lot of ribbing along the way.” The Dr. Oz Show airs weekdays nationwide, check your local listings.
