Wild Speculation: What If Nina’s Child Is…NELLE On General Hospital (GH?)

Although Nina’s forged a pretty nice life for herself on General Hospital (GH), she still longs for one thing — a child of her own.

After losing 20 years to a coma and learning the baby she was carrying at its onset died, Nina (Michelle Stafford) has done her best to cope.

Then, she got more bad news–she’d never be able to get pregnant again. While her stepdaughter Charlotte (Scarlett Fernandez) has helped filled the void in her heart, she still yearns for the child she lost.

But what if that child is still alive and, possibly, living somewhere in or around Port Charles? With GH bringing up her fertility issues out of nowhere once again, that got us thinking this story is FAR from over…

Mad Madeline Strikes Again
Remember Nina’s mad mother Madeline (Donna Mills), the woman who drugged her pregnant daughter to kill her unborn child and ended up putting Nina in a coma?

What if Madeline lied, Nina did give birth, and Madeline put the infant up for adoption? She loathed Silas for cheating on Nina with Ava (Maura West) and could have given his child away as punishment.

Somewhere Out There
That would mean that somewhere out there is a grown young woman or young man, who was raised by adoptive parents. And, as often happens with adopted kids, they grow up and want to find their birth parents.

What if Nina’s child suddenly surfaced in Port Charles and identified himself or herself? Or, what if that child–now an adult–has been there all along? Nina would be stunned, and it would turn her whole world upside down.

Who’s That Girl?
Two young women come to mind who could be Nina’s. Number one is Nelle (Chloe Lanier), the bad seed who’s already become one of Nina’s enemies. Viewers know that Nelle had a contentious relationship with her father. Maybe he never fully accepted her, since she wasn’t his flesh and blood. Kinda like Carly…

Another option is PC newcomer Francesca (Celesta DeAstis), the perky nurse who recently went on a date with Michael (Chad Duell).

It would up the character’s ante if she were tied to Nina, not to mention add fuel to the possibly brewing Nelle/Michael/Francesca triangle.

Imagine Nelle’s disdain for the young woman moving in on her baby daddy if she found out she were Nina’s daughter? It would make a fraught situation more volatile.
