Wild Speculation: Could Serena Be Headed Back To General Hospital?

The last time we saw Serena on General Hospital, Scott’s father, Lee Baldwin, had passed away. Now that Lee’s wife, Gail, Scott’s stepmother, has also died, her name has come up again — and it’s got us thinking there may be more to this.

In the Thursday episode, Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) gathered Scott (Kin Shriner), Monica (Leslie Charleson), and Laura (Genie Francis) to hear Gail’s will.

She revealed that Gail had left an educational fund for any children Serena (Carly Schroeder) may have, but also an addendum, with the hope that someone in the family will carry on the tradition of medicine.

Considering the fact that we don’t believe Serena has any kids yet (and even if she did, it would be many, many years before they would be in med school), could this be an opening invitation for Serena to be the one to consider medicine?

Fans have been clamoring for Scott’s daughter to return to town so she could have a chance to develop a relationship with her brother Franco (Roger Howarth).

Shriner has been on and off GH for over 40 years and this would be the perfect way to integrate him back into the thick of things.

Gail was a psychiatrist who helped countless people in Port Charles. It would be lovely if the show is looking to pay tribute to her by having her granddaughter follow in her footsteps.

Of course, the trust Gail left is to further endow mental health services at GH, provided certain conditions are met.

Those conditions haven’t been revealed but we can’t help but hope it means that Gail has asked for there to be a place for her granddaughter to grow and learn as she did.

The show has already invested in Franco having a family with Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) and her boys. Aunt Serena would be a wonderful addition! Stay tuned!
