On General Hospital, three characters grew up together, but only two of them are currently on-screen as high school students while another in their “kid” crowd is off in San Francisco with her parents and is only seen when she returns to Port Charles to visit her grandmother.
General Hospital Can Expand Teen Scene
It wasn’t even six years ago when Emma and Josslyn were BFFs who both had a crush on Cameron. Now, Cameron and Joss are BFFs and Emma is nowhere to be seen. In fact, it’s easy to still see her as a little girl, but Brooklyn Rae Silzer, who began playing Emma when she was six is now a teen herself and would fit in great with Joss and Trina, and yes, Cam.
Over at The Young and the Restless, the soap allowed Faith to age naturally without recasting and SORASing her and finally brought her home from all her boarding school and summer camp trips to give Alyvia Alyn Lind a true teen story. GH can do the same for Silzer, who is now 14 years old.
Even Emma’s mom was allowed to grow up before our eyes in Port Charles and now Kimberly McCullough’s Robin Scorpio-Drake is a successful doctor who occasionally makes her way back to town, but not often enough. But there is absolutely no reason Emma can’t decide she wants to live with Grandma Anna for a while and attend high school in her hometown.
Perhaps Robin and Patrick are leaving the country for work and want Emma to stay in the U.S. for her education. Maybe Emma is even acting out and needs her WSB agent grandparents to whip her into shape. No matter why GH decides Emma needs to make her PC return, it is something that definitely needs to happen for 2021. General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC.
