When it comes to women you never want to mess with, General Hospital’s Ava and Nelle top the list.
Ava (Maura West) can be summed up in one word: lethal. She murdered Connie (Kelly Sullivan), manipulated Sonny (Maurice Benard) into shooting and killing AJ (Sean Kanan), and set Morgan’s (Bryan Craig) tragic death in motion.
Meanwhile, Nelle (Chloe Lanier) drugged Sonny and convinced him they’d had sex. Later, she maneuvered her way into his son’s Michael’s (Chad Duell) bed and conveniently turned up pregnant. Now, she’s gaslighting Carly (Laura Wright) with prank phone calls from the site of Morgan’s explosive demise.
Double Trouble
Alone the two women are dangerous. Put them together and they’re downright deadly. That’s now the case since Ava hired Nelle as her assistant at the Jerome gallery. In between logging in artwork, the pair have become confidantes and friends.
Ava encourages Nelle to make her dreams come true with Michael — no matter what it takes.
Meanwhile, Nelle urges Ava to push forward with her quest to snare custody of her daughter, Avery, away from Sonny. It’s the ultimate bad girl buddy system.
A Common Enemy
There’s no end to what Ava and Nelle’s brilliant and diabolical minds can come up with as a team, which doesn’t bode well for the Corinthos family. The pair share a common enemy in Sonny and Carly.

And, in turn, they have a common goal: to wreak havoc on their lives. Ava and Nelle both blame the couple for standing in the way of their happiness and goals for the future. Their shared hatred of Sonny and Carly feeds their determination to annihilate them, and together they could have the means to do it.
A Lot to Lose
Ava and Nelle’s “Bring Down Sonny and Carly” campaign isn’t the only thing they have in common. The two women also share the same Achilles heel–namely, the good guys they love.
Nelle knows she’s risking all hope of living happily ever after with Michael if he uncovers her current plot to bring down his mom, Carly. And, Ava is keenly aware that Griffin (Matt Cohen) won’t tolerate her resorting to her unscrupulous old self to get what she wants.
However, these two women have proven time and time again that they’re willing to risk it all to achieve their end goal. So Sonny, Carly, and the rest of Port Charles should consider themselves forewarned.
