Placing their actors six feet apart hasn’t stopped General Hospital from keeping their mob stories front and center.
Sonny (Maurice Benard) is still battling Cyrus (Jeff Kober) over mob stuff. Though neither one is exactly doing more about it than glaring menacingly. Now Brando (Johnny Wactor) and Gladys (Bonnie Burroughs) are in the fray. Brando seems to be playing both ends against the middle. But whose side is he really on? Over 1,000 viewers hold some pretty strong opinions:
Brando is obviously on Sonny’s side, 80% of you assert because there is no other side anyone in Port Charles could be on. Let’s be reasonable: Everyone in town has to pledge their allegiance to one mobster. (Can you imagine a town where a criminal isn’t at the top of the social strata?)
And since everyone in town has to pledge their allegiance to a mobster, that mobster should be Sonny. He’s good. If it weren’t for him, Robin (Kimberly McCullough) would have died from AIDS! (Sonny basically funded the HIV protocol. Single-handedly.) If it weren’t for Sonny, Port Charles would be overrun with drugs and hookers. Sonny is too moral to run drugs or hookers. How could Brando be on the side of anyone else?
Brando is loyal to Gladys, 16% of General Hospital fans suggest. Not because she’s his mother. Non-Corinthos family ties don’t matter in Port Charles. (Just ask Michael.) But because she might be a mob boss herself. And if she is, then Brando has to know his mama can wipe the floor with both those puny men.
Only 4% believe that Cyrus could be Brando’s true boss. He’s a carpet-bagger. An interloper. He doesn’t have dimples or a moral code. Then again, he looks like he might actually get things done. Hard to say no to that. General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
