General Hospital fans mourned along with Alexis when she woke up to discover Neil dead in her bed mere hours after they’d reunited. The cause of death was determined to be a drug overdose.
But how did those drugs get into Neil’s (Joe Flanigan) system? Viewers think they know the answer better than the Port Charles Police Department (as if that’s hard)…
A majority 60% of you are convinced that Cyrus (Jeff Kober) had Neil killed. Why? Uhm… because he’s bad, that’s why! Cyrus is bad, so everything bad that happens must have been caused by Cyrus.
Sure, he claimed he had no idea who Neil was. And, as far as anyone knows, Neil had nothing that Cyrus wanted or needed. But it’s nice to have somebody to blame everything on. We used to have Faison (Anders Hove). Now we have Cyrus. So, yeah, let’s say it was him.
A smaller 33% of General Hospital fans assume that someone other than Cyrus killed him. They don’t know who. They don’t know why. Hey, maybe it was Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn). All of her relationships end badly. Maybe she was afraid this one wouldn’t… and decided to hasten the process. It makes about as much sense as Cyrus doing it!
Only 7% buy the ‘Neil was a junkie’ story. But, why not? He was a shrink? They tend to be crazy, right? And, as a medical doctor, he could write his own prescriptions. Maybe this should be a gritty tale of how opioid addiction can happen to anyone, and that you don’t have to look like a stereotypical addict to have problems.
Then again, it’s much more reassuring to blame Cyrus, isn’t it? Bad guys who control all are always better than real-life problems no one knows how to fix. General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
