Michael is the winner of General Hospital‘s “Poor Sap of the Year” award now that Nelle’s announced she’s pregnant with his child.
The conniving Nelle (Chloe Lanier), who once claimed to have sex with Sonny (Maurice Benard) to blow up his marriage to Carly (Laura Wright), is exactly where she wants to be — carrying a Quartermaine heir. And, no doubt, she’s got visions of dollar signs dancing in her head.
Meanwhile, Michael (Chad Duell) is trying to grasp with the reality of having a baby with a lying manipulating wench. Here’s what Nelle’s pregnancy really means for him.
Bound for Life
Sadly for Michael, if Nelle’s claims are true, he’s bound to her for life. There’s nothing that ties two people together like a baby. From diapers to preschool to college – we’re talking some 20 years here — Michael’s going to have to endure every moment with Nelle in the picture.
She won’t be one to step aside or give an inch for the sake of what’s best for their child. It will be all about what’s best for her.
Family Ties
The vibe at gatherings at Sonny and Carly’s home will never be the same with Nelle permanently in the picture. She loves to stick it to Carly every chance she gets and will. Plus, Carly and Bobbie (Jackie Zeman) loathe Nelle with a passion that they’ll never be able to cover up.
Meanwhile, Sonny always seems one step away from putting a hit out on her. Suffice it say, that peaceful and joyous family moments at Chez Corinthos are officially over.

Money Changes Everything
Nelle’s going to milk this pregnancy for all it’s worth. And by milk, we mean make Michael pay. She’s already charging surf and turf lunches to his account at Metro Court, and it’s probably only a matter of time before she demands a new luxurious place to live.
Knowing Nelle, she’ll likely want a weekly allowance, too. Michael better get his checkbook ready and start practicing writing lots of zeroes.
Manipulating Monica
Once Nelle realizes how open Monica (Leslie Charleson) is to welcoming newbies into the Quartermaine family, she’ll probably find a way to insinuate herself into the clan as Michael’s baby mama. Should Monica invite her to move into the mansion, like she already did with Kim Nero (Tamara Braun), Nelle’s likely to accept.
After all, she’d have a whole wing to herself, plus servants waiting on her hand and foot.
