Is The Bottle Now Protection For Alexis on General Hospital?

Since Julian tried to kill her and ended up acquitted of all his crimes, Alexis has been a boozy basket case on General Hospital.

Wedded bliss didn’t last long for General Hospital’s Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) and Julian (William deVry). She already knew he ordered Duke’s death and soon discovered he murdered Carlos in cold blood. When Julian caught Alexis wearing a wire so she could get his confession on tape, he turned his deadly dagger on her and threatened to slit her throat. It’s no wonder she’s been in a downward spiral and “self-medicating” with a nonstop flow of wine.

Fear Factor
The reason behind Alexis’s drinking can be summed up simply for 54% of you. She’s scared to death of Julian and for good reason. Alexis thought she was en route to living happily ever after. Instead, it all turned into a horrible nightmare. Now that Julian’s out of jail she’s afraid for her life, petrified he could snap at any moment and try to kill her, again.

Down and Out
Alexis is depressed, say 29% of you. Heaven knows she has plenty of reason. Her law license was suspended, her marriage is in shambles, and, to top it off, Julian is now walking around a free man. It’s all driven Alexis to drink, while she tries to forget and numb her pain.

Time for AA
Some 17% of fans believe Alexis has developed a major problem. She’s an alcoholic. After getting tipsy and blowing her testimony against Julian on the witness stand, her drinking has just continued. Because of the sorry state of her life, you fear it’s going to get a lot worse.
