Vanessa Marcil Experiences Deep Personal Loss

For two decades, Vanessa Marcil and her father didn’t speak, and now she’s lost him for good.

The former General Hospital (GH) actress took to Instagram on Friday night to announce her father, Pete Ortiz, had passed away on Thursday at 10:10. To her the time was symbolic, as she said it means “I’m off duty, I’m going home.”

Marcil explained on Instagram how her and her father were estranged for 20 years, but that in the last five years they reconnected and grew closer than ever. She posted pics of them together, as well as one of him cooking with his grandson, Marcil’s son, Kassius.
