A Twisted Tale: Is General Hospital’s (GH) Nelle Too Crazy To Redeem?

General Hospital (GH) knows from crazy! Think of all the characters who’ve spent time in the loony-bin and returned to resume their daily lives in Port Charles.

There’s Laura (Genie Francis) and Kevin (Jon Lindstrom). There’s Franco (Roger Howarth) and Nina (Michelle Stafford). There’s Sonny (Maurice Benard) and Carly (Laura Wright).

What about Nelle (Chloe Lanier), though? She’s been hospitalized before, and she’s clearly still crazy… but is she too twisted to be saved? Over 8,000 fans offered their diagnosis:

Viewers are willing to give all their faves the benefit of the doubt, but 94% believe Nelle is too far gone.

It’s one thing to use a pregnancy to hold onto Michael (Chad Duell). That’s a noble path taken by many a heroine – right, Carly? And Monica (Leslie Charleson)?

But trying to drive Carly crazy by making her think Morgan (Bryan Craig) is still alive, then claiming Carly tried to kill both her and her unborn baby, that’s beyond the pale!

Sonny can kill people and hang them on meathooks, but it’s not like he’s ever lied about a baby blanket!

There are things you are willing to forgive, and things that are unforgivable. And Nelle going after the Corinthos family is some no one can ever come back from.

Forgiveness Is Divine
Franco is a serial-killer living with a mother of three, and that’s OK, so for 5% of you, Nelle still has potential.

Maybe love for her child will snap her back to sanity. Or maybe some electroshock therapy. Either way, she should be given the chance to pull her life together, the way so many other Port Charles citizens have.

If Obrecht (Kathleen Gatti) can kill and kidnap and still end up head of a hospital, Nelle has a long way to go before she can be officially considered irredeemable.
