It was a moment that had General Hospital fans holding their collective breath — Ava asked the psychic to contact Nikolas, who died back in 2016. Would she be able to find him? Of course not. But was GH signaling that they might be ready to finally unearth the Dark Prince? Or was this a horrible tease of a red herring?
While we still don’t have the answer to that burning question — nor if it would be the actor who originated the role, Tyler Christopher, or a recast — we can’t help but let our minds reel at the possibility. It certainly feels like Port Charles is ripe for a return by Laura’s (Genie Francis) eldest son.
First, is the most obvious — his mother is in town! Laura, now the mayor, needs her son to return. But would he be the sweet boy she knew or the extremely troubled and darker man who found himself in huge trouble, hanging out with the likes of Ava Jerome (Maura West)? And that question is exactly why we need Nik back so bad!
He’s a wildcard — it could go either way. There are plenty of people in town who could bring out his better angels — like his mother, his sister Lulu (Emme Rylan), his nephews, niece, cousins, and Aunt Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn).
And isn’t it about time Spencer is SORAS’d to join the teen scene (sorry, we do adore Nicolas Bechtel but he seems too busy these days anyway) and give his father a hard time?
Nik’s rival Jax (Ingo Rademacher) is back in town — they both loved Spencer’s mother, Courtney. So is his ex, Hayden (Rebecca Budig), whom he once sent a hitman to kill.
There’s also Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst), yet another woman he has a long, complicated past with and who also has a new husband. How would Frano (Roger Howarth) react?
