Soap fans aren’t the only ones that were excited to see Tristan Rogers on General Hospital. Scorpio had a huge fan back in the day — co-star Parry Shen!
The younger actor tweeted a special memory — and how it manifested into something awesome in the present.
“Remember when I tweeted about seeing @tristanrogers for the 1st time on @GeneralHospital when I was 8yrs old? I thought he was so cool & jotted his name inside a Charlie Brown ‘Cyclopedia so I wouldn’t forget it? Well, guess who signed it today 37 yrs later?!”
Needless to say, the little eight-year-old in Shen had to have been over the moon with this latest development. Rogers has been back in Port Charles, helping Anna (Finola Hughes) deal with the surprising virus that rendered her blind briefly and also affected others in town.
That arrival gave Shen the opportunity to bring things full circle — and we couldn’t be happier for him. It’s easy to understand how anyone would go crazy to meet the legendary actor and get his autograph.
Rogers was practically an instant sensation when he joined GH back in 1981 as the spy with the sexy Australian accent who befriended heroes Luke (Anthony Geary) and Laura (Genie Francis). The story about having to stop the Cassadines from freezing Port Charles — the Ice Princess — was an instant classic.
Here’s hoping Rogers and Scorpio will be sticking around Port Charles for the forseeable future.
General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
