Veteran General Hospital star Tristan Rogers has given fans a reason to celebrate this spring with his return as Robert Scorpio, but the actor himself had his own reason to celebrate this past weekend.
Rogers was born on June 3, 1946 in Melbourne, Australia, meaning he turned 72 years young on Sunday.
The actor got his small screen start on Australian TV series in the 1970s and eventually made his way to England and then Hollywood. By 1980 he landed the role of WSB agent Robert Scorpio and the rest is soap history.
Rogers played Robert continuously until 1992, but has brought the character back to Port Charles off and on ever since.
The soap world was shocked in 2010 when Rogers created a brand-new character on another soap since he was so well known as Robert. But, that’s when Colin Atkinson was “born” on The Young and the Restless.
These days Rogers recurs as both Colin on Y&R and Robert on GH, enjoying the best of both worlds.
The actor has been married twice. He has two grown children with second wife Teresa Parkinson, who he is still wed to today.
Soap Hub hopes Rogers had the happiest of birthdays and you can send him good wishes with the tweet link below.
General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
