Tommy Lee Jones is a television, film, and theater actor who has been in movies like The Fugitive, JFK, No Country For Old Men, the Men in Black films, and Captain America: The First Avenger. He’s also appeared on a soap.

Jones was born on September 15 in San Saba, Texas. His mother was a police officer, school teacher, and a beauty shop owner, while his father was an oil field worker. He was raised in Midland, Texas and attended Robert E. Lee High School, which former First Lady Laura Bush also attended. Jones then moved to Dallas and graduated from St. Mark’s School of Texas.
Roommates in College, Friends For Life
He got a scholarship to Harvard University and was roommates with future Vice President Al Gore. The pair became very good friends and at the 2000 Democratic National Convention, Jones actually presented the nominating speech for Gore as the Democratic Party’s nominee.
Soap Beginnings
Following his time at Harvard, Jones moved to New York to make his Broadway debut in a show called A Patriot for Me. A few years later, he was cast as Dr. Mark Toland on the ABC soap, One Life to Live, a role he had for over three years.
Jones has been nominated for four Academy Awards throughout his career, but he got his big win for Best Supporting Actor thanks to his work in The Fugitive in 1994. Along with his Oscar, the actor has also won an Emmy Award, a Golden Globe Award, and two Screen Actors Guild Awards.
Getting Personal With Tommy Lee Jones
His first marriage was to Kate Lardner between 1971 to 1978. He then married Kimberlea Cloughley in 1981, but they divorced in 1996. The former couple has two children together, son Austin, born in 1982, and daughter Victoria, born in 1991. He then married his third wife, Dawn Laurel, in March 2001.
