The General Hospital Sonny And Brenda Reunion You Never Thought You’d See

They were a supercouple through the 1990s and were on-again/off-again on General Hospital till 2013. Now, it looks like Maurice Benard and Vanessa Marcil are together again — or at least the actors behind Sonny and Brenda had an encounter that fans are going wild about.

“Two generations of actors……. Thank you @mauricebenard for loving the craft & loving all of us with your truthful and generous heart. Go order Mo’s book #nothinggeneralaboutit,” Marcil posted on Instagram next to a photo of herself, Benard, and their two teenage sons in the background. It looks like the actors ran into each other while out shopping at a local pharmacy.

Both Kassius Marcil-Green and Joshua Benard, Marcil’s teen son and Benard’s teen son, respectively, looked on behind them in the selfie. As many fans remember, Joshua played a young Sonny back in 2018 when Sonny reflected on his life and how he became a mobster. Marcil’s son has also been bitten by the acting bug.

Marcil made sure to promote her former co-star’s book, Nothing General About It, due out in April. (You can pre-order it here on Amazon.com.) Benard has been previewing parts of the book and has told us you can read all about his and Marcil’s rocky beginning as co-stars.

That rocky beginning has surely turned into a mutual admiration society, as both actors have been known to be supportive of one another in recent years on social media and Marcil recently called into one of Benard’s comedy shows to do a “phone appearance” of sorts.

Still, there are many GH fans who would love to see Marcil back on their Port Charles screens to shake things up in Sonny and Carly’s lives. Will it ever happen, making so many fan dreams come true?
