The Days Of Our Lives-General Hospital Secret Behind Jack And Jennifer’s New Year’s Kiss

Days of Our Lives gave fans quite a New Year’s Eve with quite a few midnight kisses. The show has been the one soap to not shy away from showing us kisses between two characters, feeling their COVID-19 protocols are safe enough to do this. However, sometimes the case calls for a stand-in, and this case a loaner from another soap, General Hospital.

A Days of Our Lives And General Hospital Cross-Over

Jack and Jennifer shared a New Year’s reunion and a New Year’s kiss, but it was actually Cady McClain’s husband, Jon Lindstrom (Kevin/Ryan General Hospital), standing in for Matthew Ashford’s Jack.

Although COVID tests are administered regularly, it turned out McClain wanted to play things as safe as possible this day for a very good reason that she revealed on Twitter.

“Had a little cold and my lovely husband @thejonlindstrom stepped in to be ‘stunt lips.’ Super fun! Thanks, Jon!”

Lindstrom, who has his own on-screen romance over in Port Charles with Genie Francis’s Laura, just replied to his wife with a heart emoji.

McClain and Lindstrom met when she played Rosanna Cabot on As the World Turns and he played Craig Montgomery. On Valentine’s Day in 2014, the pair wed and he returned to General Hospital as Kevin Collins (and his evil twin, Ryan Chamberlain). After launching a directing career, McClain recently made a return to daytime as Jennifer Horton, stepping in for Melissa Reeves, who chose not to return to the soap after the coronavirus hiatus.

They are now a two-soap pair once again, but through the magic of television and in the name of health and safety, they were able to spend one day as a single-soap pair, and Jack and Jennifer fans are grateful.
