Kelly Thiebaud, who, as Dr. Britt Westbourne, is both loved and loathed by General Hospital fans, has some big news about her status with the daytime show.
Kelly Thiebaud: Back In PC
The actress last appeared on GH in 2018 is now coming back to the ABC serial. “Frank [Valentini, executive producer] reached out to me the beginning of this year and mentioned that the writers wanted to bring me back for a bit,” Theibaud told Soap Opera Digest.
“I said, ‘Of course I will! I would love nothing more than that!’” What keeps bringing her back to the role of Britt? It’s the fans, the actress says. They are “a huge reason why I always enjoy going back…. Even if it’s just for a couple of episodes they always seem to really enjoy seeing that character and that makes it more fun and exciting for me.”
Most recently, Thiebaud’s been recurring on Station 19, the ABC serial drama that airs on Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET. Her other credits include A Mother on the Edge, Mommy and Me, Abduction of Angie, and Love at First Glance.
All About Britt
Thiebaud debuted on GH in 2012. She entered into a (literally) steamy relationship with widower Dr. Patrick Drake (Jason Thompson), who was mourning the loss of his beloved Robin (Kimberly McCullough), who wasn’t, as viewers found out, really dead.
Despite sharing sex in the shower with Britt, Patrick dumped the ‘bad’ doctor lightning-fast after finding out that she’d been, shall we say, not so nice to little Emma (Brooklyn Silzer), his beloved daughter. Britt tried to worm her way back into Patrick’s life by saying she was pregnant with his child. In reality, she had had Lulu’s (Emme Rylan) embryo planted inside her.
The show tied Britt to GH’s rich history by making her the daughter of Cesar Faison (Anders Hove). During her last visit to GH, Britt was offered a deal — give up her mom. Dr. Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati), in exchange for her freedom. Thiebaud’s first return air date has not been announced. General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC. Check local listings for air times.
