General Hospital Star Tequan Richmond to Return as TJ Ashford!

Popular “General Hospital” star Tequan Richmond will soon reprise the role he has made a fan favorite, TJ Ashford.

“We will see him again soon as his romance with Molly [Haley Pullos] heats up and family tensions mount,” a representative for the daytime drama told Soap Opera Digest.

Richmond’s absence of late, during which the actor has pursued other projects, has been the storyline elephant in the Port Charles room as fans have wondered, “Why is TJ suddenly and glaringly MIA?” But, soon he’ll be back, mixing things up again with Jordan (Vinessa Antoine) and Curtis (Donnell Turner). And we can’t wait to see what he’ll be getting up to!

Since he joined the ABC sudser 2012, Richmond has had no shortage of meaty storylines to sink his acting chops into. His teen romance has run super-hot. Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) once walked in on a romantic night with him and girlfriend, Molly.

Then, his wayward mother Jordan (Vinessa Antoine) arrived town, soon exposing herself as an undercover federal agent trying to bring down the Jerome family crime syndicate. This massively complicated her and TJ’s relationship, leading him to turn to Sonny for support. That further snarled things up with them, as Jordan was–and is–trying to bring Sonny’s crime organization down as well!

We viewers also know that the imprisoned Shawn is TJ’s real father. Will this come to light when TJ returns, setting the stage for Shawn’s return? We don’t know–but we can’t wait to find out!

Richmond was nominated for a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Young Actor in 2016. He has played Ray Charles, Jr. in the feature film, “Ray,” and Drew Rock on the sitcom, “Everybody Hates Chris.”
