Did someone reverse the time-space continuum on General Hospital today cause we can swear we were transported somewhere else? Days of Our Lives has been thrilling us with one-off guest appearances here and there, but GH gave us the gamut today–and some of it just came with the conversation.
Of course, Maxie (Kirsten Storms) and Nathan’s (Ryan Paevey) wedding came with the requisite flashbacks of the happy couple’s relationship, but those flashbacks weren’t the only thing to bring back sweet memories at this wedding.
Seeing Robin (Kimberly McCullough), Mac (John J. York), Felicia (Kristina Wagner), and Emma (Brooklyn Silzer) was certainly a sight for sore eyes, but when Felicia explained why Lucy couldn’t make it, our ears had to do a double take rather than our eyes.
We rarely ever hear about Lucy’s surrogate daughter Serena (biological parents: Scott and the late Dominique Baldwin), and we haven’t seen her onscreen in 14 years, but it turns out Lucy was off visiting her recently (forgetting about Ava’s pill secret, we guess).
And the reason Lucy couldn’t get back in time for the wedding? Her plane was re-routed to Corinth?
Say what? Corinth? The fictional city we haven’t heard about in decades where ABC’s Loving took place before it morphed into the ill-fated The City (starring Lisa LoCircero, Olivia) back in 1997?
We know ABC won back the rights to All My Children and One Life to Live, but we never thought we’d ever hear about Loving again.
But, if Delia Ryan (Ilene Kristen) can be Ava’s (Maura West) mother, giving us a little Ryan’s Hope every once in a while, why not throw in a little Loving for good measure?
And when we weren’t at the lovely little Naxie wedding, we still felt like we’d taken a hot tub time machine back to the 90s.
Ned (Wally Kurth) appeared out of nowhere to prove that yes, he still lives in Port Charles and is in love with Olivia. Now, if we could see him a little more, that would be nice. Thanks.
And, of course, let’s not forget about that forever-ABC daytime fave we saw for the first time since we left Llanview and OLTL–Tonja Walker.

It looks like she is indeed playing Olivia Jerome, as she referred to herself as Julian’s family, but we still want to believe she is really Alex Olanov posing as Olivia, because we want to write the soaps and make things more fun.
We can dream, can’t we? Or at least every once in a while we can take a step back in soap time.
