Trina (Tabyana Ali) admitted to Portia (Brook Kerr) that she didn’t want Kai (Jens Austin Astrup) to get the surgery, which influenced Portia’s answer when Kai asked her opinion on it and she told him it wasn’t a good idea. Drew (Cameron Mathison) revealed to Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) that he had paperwork drawn up for her to sign that would make him the legal guardian of her children if something were to happen to her and vice versa, and she signed it. After a nice night with Kristina (Kate Mansi) and Molly (Kristen Vaganos) where Kristina admitted she’s doing better than she has in a long time, Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) started having second thoughts about having Kristina committed. Laura (Genie Francis) visited Sonny (Maurice Benard) and informed him about the upcoming vote on where to build the new esplanade.

Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) was welcomed home from the hospital by Lucky (Jonathan Jackson), Laura, Lulu (Alexa Havins), and Aiden (Colin Cassidy). But when Amy (Risa Dorken) showed up as Elizabeth’s home nurse, everyone became quickly annoyed with her very hands-on care. Trina confided in Ava about Kai’s decision to get the surgery. Alexis admitted to Diane (Carolyn Hennesy) that she changed her mind about having Kristina committed, then met with Ava to inform her that her divorce settlement from the Cassadine fortune was being put into her account, but Ava revealed that was only the beginning of her hush money. Chase (Josh Swickard) and Lois (Rena Sofer) had a heart-to-heart about his support of Brook Lynn (Amanda Sutton), while Brook Lynn asked Gio (Giovanni Mazza) to perform the violin at the Nurses Ball. Joss (Eden McCoy) and Emma (Braedyn Bruner) went to the Surf Lodge after class, where they were approached by Professor Dalton (Daniel Goddard, who made his GH debut), who asked Emma to be his undergraduate research assistant this summer.

As Amy started getting on everyone’s last nerve, Elizabeth called Lucas (Van Hansis) for backup to reel in Amy, and Lucky offered to take her place to help Liz. Sidwell (Carlo Rota) met with Tracy (Jane Elliot) to join forces to rid Port Charles of Sonny’s power. At Laura’s press conference about the esplanade, Jordan (Tanisha Harper) took the opportunity to publicly quit as Deputy Mayor and later received a call from Sidwell. Drew tried talking Ezra (Daniel Cosgrove) into running against Laura and going everything he says. Sonny outed Marco (Adrian Anchondo) as Sidwell’s son, prompting Diane to want to fire him. When Alexis later met with him, they were interrupted by Lucas.

Everyone threw a birthday party for Dante (Dominic Zamprogna), during which Rocco (Finn Carr) revealed he didn’t want Sonny at his debate for Laura’s sake and Lulu (Alexa Havins) became suspicious about Gio after he mentioned being born in Los Angeles. Chase (Josh Swickard) and Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) decided they want to adopt a child. Cody (Josh Kelly) found Molly (Kristen Vaganos) with a flat on the side of the road and gave her a ride home on his horse. Marco spoke with Alexis about his father having nothing to do with his career, much like she separated herself from The Cassadines.

Sonny revealed to Carly (Laura Wright) that he has a heart problem and has surgery scheduled for next week. After Sidwell (Carlo Rota) revealed to Lucy (Lynn Herring) that Natalia (Eva LaRue) is his ex-wife, the exes went at it and Natalia eventually revealed that Sonny needs open heart surgery. Jason informed Maxie (Kirsten Storms) and Brook Lynn that Natalia is Sidwell’s ex. Jordan accepted her new job with Sidwell and broke the news to Isaiah (Sawandi Wilson). Emma began her community service at GH. After Joss got her sprained ankle examined, she spotted Professor Dalton sneaking around GH.
