All Out War
In GH’s weekly promo, there is war and very little peace, and that’s just what’s happening with Agent John Cates (Adam J. Harrington).
The tone quickly escalates after Sonny (Maurice Benard) asks Michael (Chad Duell) for help. Unsurprisingly, it looks like the Sonny versus Ava (Maura West) situation will be a big focus. Sonny presumably attempts to enlist Michael’s support while John and Ava grow closer. The two recently sparked, and now it feels like that spark may turn into a full-blown intimate moment.
But before that can happen, John’s particular talent for pissing off all of Port Charles gains traction. First, he drops a bomb on Jason (Steve Burton). The Feeb tells him that his days as his informant are “far from over.” Apparently, providing the identity of who’s behind Pikeman isn’t enough for Cates. What does he want from Jason now? And does he continue to hold the Carly (Laura Wright) leverage over his head? Obviously, this isn’t going to make Jason happy. He needs his freedom!
The action then jumps to the Kristina (Kate Mansi) and Molly (Kristen Vaganos) Surrogacy Conflict of 2024. It’s a story that has taken a backseat lately since Kristina has been dealing with the Natalia (Eva LaRue) homophobic rant situation. If you recall, Kristina was hella worried that Molly’s rights weren’t covered should she and TJ (Tajh Bellow) break up. So she researched, consulted Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn), and even drew up some papers should everything go wrong. Simultaneously, you could tell Kristina started thinking about a future with Blaze (Jacqueline Grace Lopez) and the baby. She approached dangerous territory. Look for Molly to make her own move. She wants Kristina to sign papers to relinquish her parental rights. As a result, Kristina doesn’t look happy. In fact, she looks speechless.
Back to John’s week of making war and maybe a little love. Understandably, he confronts Anna (Finola Hughes), asking her if she helped Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) escape the long arm of the law. Then he finds himself face-to-face with an angry Carly, who tells John to come and get her. Carly and John once had a somewhat amiable relationship. How does John respond to Carly?
Basically, the promo ends with a quick succession of shots that bring up questions. Why is Danny (Asher Antonyzyn) throwing something? What makes him angry? Are John and Ava really going in for a kiss? What are they thinking? And what is Natalia looking at? Does she spy something she shouldn’t? Finally, will Sonny’s burst of anger damage his case for full custody of Avery (Ava and Grace Scarola)? Or is it because he experiences a loss in his campaign against Ava?
