The next General Hospital spoilers for Wednesday, July 31, 2024, focus on characters offering up apologies, alternative theories, and support. But will this support be accepted or rejected?
The Pikeman problem seems to be over. The evidence against Carly (Laura Wright) suddenly disappeared, so she walked out of the courtroom as a free woman. Brennan (Charles Mesure) is also breathing the sweet, sweet air of freedom. And Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) and Charlotte (Scarlett Fernandez) are in the wind. The only one looking particularly stupid is Agent Cates (Agent Cates), but he’s shifted his focus to bringing down Sonny (Maurice Benard).
With Pikeman in the rearview, Anna (Finola Hughes) tells Jason (Steve Burton) that she has a debt to repay. While she did travel to Washington, D.C., to dig up info on Brennan’s whereabouts, she had nothing to do with setting Carly free. But she did ask Jason for a massive favor that made his life more difficult. He held off Cates while she told Valentin that the long arm of the law was about to descend on his house. How does Jason respond? Does he want to collect on her debt right away?
Meanwhile, Molly (Kristen Vaganos) listens to Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) and attempts to hash things out with Kristina (Kate Mansi). She makes some sort of apology — presumably demanding that she sign those parental rights termination papers on the spot. Does Kristina make her own apologies? Will this conversation ultimately be productive or destructive? And the clock is ticking. Kristina’s due date is fast approaching, so if the sisters are going to makeup, it better be now.
Carly’s first inclination is to think Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) was the one who disappeared the damning evidence that resulted in those RICO violations. One theory: Carly did fill Brennan in on everything, and with him out and about, he had every opportunity. (Find out the details about GH’s Tabyana Ali speaking out against trolling)
Cates chats with the only ally he has in this town — Ava (Maura West). Hopefully, he knows she’ll turn on him in a New York minute if it suits her. For now, this shaky alliance works for her. And for the moment, Ava is feeling optimistic that she’ll get the outcome she wants in this custody case.
Finally, Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) takes it upon himself to reign in Sonny again. Understandably, he’s upset with his dad because he told him to stay away from the courtroom and Cates. And what did he do? He put himself in the line of fire, and Cates tried to goad Sonny into a physical altercation. He tells his dad that he “can only push everybody so far, even me!” Something tells us Sonny isn’t going to listen to his son, especially since teasers for this Wednesday episode suggest Sonny won’t listen to reason. Will somebody figure out that he’s taking tampered meds, please?
