General Hospital spoilers for January 9, 2024, feature Esme facing the music. Plus, Sonny seeks out Carly. For that alone you do not want to miss this episode.
Recently, Carly’s (Laura Wright) been on the receiving end of a double dose of dire news. Right after finding out her mother died, she found out that Nina (Cynthia Watros) was the one responsible for her and Drew (Cameron Mathison) being on the radar of the SEC. So she’s currently going through it. What she’s probably feeling right now is the need for support and understanding.
Well, if she also wants space to grieve, she’s not about to get it. Because Sonny (Maurice Benard) decides to seek Carly out. While these two almost always have each other’s backs, they’ve been on separate paths as of late. Both of their lives are a mess, however, so this interaction might be just what the doctor ordered (find out more about their upcoming moment here).
Laura (Genie Francis) makes good on her promise and escorts Esme (Avery Kristen Pohl) to the police station where she can confess her crime. Yes, she broke into Wyndemere, and yes, she dropped her glove trying to avoid the cops on her way out. Will Esme play up her inner good girl or is she about to let a little bit of the Old Esme out when she faces the Port Charles Police Department?
Apparently, Marshall (Robert Gossett) and Stella (Vernee Watson) might not have forgotten their own heated interaction that happened recently. Ever since, it’s been awkward and things between them don’t seem like they’re about to improve anytime soon. Coming up, their conversation takes on a new kind of heat: anger. Yup, look for these two to clash.

At least when Stella converses with Trina (Tabyana Ali), there won’t be any harsh or loud words involved. Trina, in her usual soft-spoken way, will simply confide in her. Is the knowledge that Trina wants to share with Stella related to Spencer (Nicholas Alexander Chavez) and certain Sorbonne/Paris plans they may be making? Or does it have to do with something else?
Finally, what’s better and more exhilarating than skydiving? If you ask Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) and Gregory (Gregory Harrison), it’s a post-skydiving kiss. But being the analytical journalists that they are, they must dissect everything that has to do with said kiss. Surely, questions will be asked and arguments against any further kisses will be made. Or maybe — just maybe — they’ll go with the flow and let things happen naturally.
