General Hospital spoilers for Friday, September 6, focus on critical tasks, a major mother-daughter conflict, and a dubious Elizabeth.
Admittedly, Carly (Laura Wright) getting sucked back into Sonny’s toxic orbit isn’t entirely her fault. A minute ago, Sonny (Maurice Benard) and Carly co-parented, and everybody worried about Sonny, whose meds were ultimately being messed with. Suddenly, Sonny killed Agent Cates (Adam J. Harrington — who shared a touching goodbye) and lined Carly up to help with his alibi. What a difference a few weeks make!
Their cover story involves the exes “reconnecting” upstairs at the Quartermaine mansion. And now Sonny’s vaguely reminiscing about the two of them making a great team. We’re not sure how much of this whole business that Josslyn (Eden McCoy) will be privy to, but it’s understandable why she blasts her mom. It has to be for this regressive behavior. Joss’s stance on Sonny may have slightly softened, but she knows the man is toxic and causes chaos for everybody in his life. And she knows this isn’t a good move for her mother. How will Carly respond?
Sonny isn’t done making moves. Since he and Jason (Steve Burton) are in lockstep again, the coffee importer decides to give Jason a critical task. Does this so-called task have something to do with the missing gun from his penthouse or the actual murder he perpetrated?
Meanwhile, teasers suggest that Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) is dubious. We don’t blame her, considering she just saw Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) throw a gun over a bridge. Or maybe this has to do with Heather Webber (Alley Mills) or the John Doe that’s lying in a hospital bed at GH. Actually, forget all that. We still can’t stop thinking about how Lucky (Jonathan Jackson) is thinking about Liz all the way in East Africa. Just us?
Ever since Cates’s body was found, Sonny has had plenty of time to create a viable cover story (see above). But he knows the PCPD will come for him. Why was he at the Quartermaine mansion? It wasn’t because they invited him to the big family dinner party. So far, the man hasn’t faced Anna (Finola Hughes). But we’re betting that he’s the one she issues a warning to because, duh. He’s the most likely suspect.
Finally, Lois (Rena) is full of surprises. But are they good surprises? Because if she’s looking to get an etiquette teacher and lose her accent, then we’re hella sus. Her quirky voice and vocalizations make her who she is. Lois is the last person who would cater to the insecurities that come with being a presence on the small screen. Will anybody talk some sense into her?
