Thankfully, Tracy (Jane Elliot) decided not to avoid such an important occasion, and she returned to Port Charles to properly say goodbye to Monica. And the town has gathered at the chapel to pay their respects to a legend, Dr. Monica Quartermaine (the late great Leslie Charleson).
On Friday, Monica’s friends and family will continue celebrating her life, saying goodbye to a woman who leaves an amazing legacy behind. Hopefully, stories of drama past will continue to be told, and heartwarming memories shared.
However, teasers also reveal that a surprising guest shakes things up. In GH’s weekly video preview, Tracy’s at the Quartermaine crypt when she sees someone and has to ask, “Who are you?”
One Life to Live alum, Erika Slezak, begins her run on GH. The show’s co-head writers, Elizabeth Korte and Chris Van Etten, teased the iconic actress’s role, saying to TV Insider:
Into all this steps Erika Slezak’s character, who arrives bearing surprising connections to the Quartermaine clan and mysterious ties to others on the canvas.
In addition, Korte and Van Etten decided to turn this heartfelt and significant goodbye into something more. They told TV Insider that “we wanted Monica’s passing to kick off a new story; to create new connections on the canvas; to test loved ones; and to grow their relationships.” And Slezak will undoubtedly be the epicenter of this drama.
