The election is finally here, which means Port Charles residents finally get to vote on the Measure C mandate. This election will also serve as a mandate on whether the town still has faith in Laura (Genie Francis).
Ezra Boyle (Daniel Cosgrove), Sidwell (Carlo Rota), and Drew (Cameron Mathison, who’s headed to the big screen for the holidays) have been trying to get voters to see that a vote for Laura is a vote for a mayor who refuses to sever ties with the notorious Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard). When Laura’s campaign suddenly suffers a setback, what will that mean for her chances of reelection?
A New Alliance
In other somewhat related news, Sidwell can’t abide by Laura’s connection to Sonny. The crime lord wants to kick the man out of Port Charles by any means necessary. And that means he needs Sonny’s waterfront property. Look for the interloper to potentially have a new ally on his side.
And that ally is Ava (Maura West). Somehow, Ava impresses Sidwell. The two share many similarities. Neither has time for Sonny. They both love money, power, and danger. This could be the start of a new pairing. Sorry, Lucy (Lynn Herring).
Sonny Turns to Jason
As for Sonny, he will probably pay close attention to the Measure C vote. Additionally, he is focusing much of his energy on convincing people to forget about Michael (Rory Gibson) as a person of interest in the Drew Cain shooting investigation.
Look for Sonny to confer with Jason (Steve Burton), likely on all matters related to Michael, Drew, and Sidwell, as well as avoiding being pushed out of town.
The Carly and Valentin Collaboration
Elsewhere, Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) must be the familiar face that is back in town, as Carly (Laura Wright, who’s celebrating 20 years on GH) updates him on Friday. The two have a plan to take down Brennan (Chris McKenna), and his being in the States works to their advantage.
If this update happens in person, please tell us that Carly will need to wear another disguise. The first one she wore when she infiltrated Steinmauer was a lot of fun.
New Strategy Needed
Finally, the adults aren’t the only ones who are scheming. Emma (Braedyn Bruner, who wowed in a recent performance with Giovanni Mazza) and Charlotte (Bluesy Burke) strategize. After Rocco (Finn Carr) failed to steal Britt’s (Kelly Thiebaud) key fob to the labs, Emma needs to devise an alternative way to obtain it.
Or she and Charlotte are strategizing about a different step in the plan. Regardless, the two of them can probably come up with something brilliant, stealthy. and effective. It’s in their genes.
