General Hospital Spoilers July 22: Sonny Puts Michael on the Spot

General Hospital spoilers for Monday, July 22, focus on plans going wrong, warnings being issued, and characters making requests that may or may not be refused.

Requests

Sonny (Maurice Benard) had a recent conversation with Willow (Katelyn MacMullen), and it felt like he still wasn’t over Michael (Chad Duell) planting Dex (Evan Hofer) in his organization to spy on him. On the positive side, he didn’t appear as angry as the last few months.

According to Monday’s teasers, Sonny makes a request of Michael (Soap Hub speculates about Michael going dark side sooner rather than later). This must mean the two can exist in the same room again. And maybe the tension that’s between them eases a bit. Or not. The thing is, Sonny really needs allies in his war against Ava (Maura West). Once Sonny makes the request, how will his son answer him?

Plans and Strategies

While Sonny is in the midst of reconnecting all the people he shut out of his life, Ava and Scott (Kin Shriner) strategize. It shouldn’t be too difficult to find ways to fight Sonny, considering the coffee importer has acted out of control for the better part of six months. How will they get Sonny to back down? Will anything they come up with actually stick?

Elsewhere, Jason’s plans go awry. That’s unfortunate, especially since Jason (Steve Burton) is freer than he’s been in three years. Part of his plans involved getting back in with Sonny. Seek and Warn

Laura (Genie Francis) seeks out Anna (Finola Hughes). You know, she actually might not be too happy with her friend and PCPD Commissioner. After all, she was just telling a comatose Lulu (formerly Emme Rylan) about how happy Charlotte (Scarlett Fernandez) was, and then, in the next second, she was in the wind with Valentin (James Patrick Stuart). She probably wants Anna to explain what in the world happened.

Finally, Diane (Carolyn Hennesy) issues a warning. It’s one of her favorite things to do, actually. Who’s on the other end of the warning? If she’s acting in Sonny’s capacity, it must be Ava, right? Who else could it be? Let us know your thoughts and choices in the comments.
