General Hospital spoilers for Tuesday, July 16, focus on unexpected visits, opportunities, and reactions.
Friendly or Hostile Communication
How long has it been since Sonny (Maurice Benard) and Nina (Cynthia Watros) were in the same room? Nina has done what she can to put Sonny in her rearview. After all, he forgot about her the second he learned about her being the whistleblower. While it took way longer for her to get to that place, she has. She’s relishing her job heading up Crimson, reconnecting with her daughter, and engaging in like-hate sex with Drew (Cameron Mathison). Of course, there’s about to be a hitch in that dynamic sooner rather than later.
So when Sonny pays a visit to Nina, will he treat her like he has for the last six months? The answer isn’t so obvious. He needs allies in his war against Ava (Maura West). To get his ex-wife on his side, he may play nice. And how would Nina respond if this is the case? Will she pledge her support despite their recent past, or will she show him the door?
Sway All Day
Unsurprisingly, Ava is doing her best to scrounge up some allies. She kinda sorta has Laura (Genie Francis — find out about her special bond with the late Richard Simmons) on her side. Same with Scott (Kin Shriner). But, honestly, there aren’t many others in town that she hasn’t pissed off. She’s even creeping out Trina (Tabyana Ali). Look for her to try to sway Agent John Cates (Adam J. Harrington), a man she barely knows. But instantly, they have something in common: they both hate Sonny. Can John be swayed at this point? He’s done dumber things.
Meanwhile, Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) is taken aback. If this is about her not-so-secret kiss with Drew, then it’s understandable. Does Sasha (Sofia Mattsson) tell her she knows about what happened at the Quartermaine’s Fourth of July party? Knowing someone witnessed her kiss will no doubt freak her out.
Opportunities and Decisions
Anna (Finola Hughes) must make a tough decision. She may have gotten the goods on Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) AKA Mr. Pikeman. But she still has a soft spot for him. So is this tough decision whether she should arrest him or let him skate out of town? (Check out Soap Hub’s GH Weekly Update here)
Finally, Lois (Rena Sofer) presents Gio (Giovanni Mazza) with an opportunity. This kid is cleaning up in Port Charles. The moment he got to town, he’s been racking up the opportunities. He now lives at the Quartermaine mansion. He got a job at the Metro Court Pool. Trina got him the serenading gig at Ava’s art gallery. What new opportunity does Lois offer him?
