It’s to be expected that Kevin has some very complicated feelings about his twin’s death on General Hospital. That is if Ryan is actually dead — but that’s another story. The pair were separated as children. Kevin’s dad took him because he knew his wife was sexually abusing Ryan, and he didn’t want the same thing to happen to Kevin.

But he left Ryan (Jon Lindstrom) with his mother. Because…reasons? In any case, Ryan was horribly traumatized by the experience, and he became a horrible person as a result. But that’s all over. Isn’t it?
General Hospital: Guilty Party
Kevin (also Jon Lindstrom) never forgave himself for letting Ryan down. It was that guilt that drove Kevin to hide a presumed dead Ryan in a mental institution where he told himself Ryan could get the care he needed, and never hurt anyone again.
Not only did his brother not get treatment, it seems like he also wasn’t kept hidden away from others, as Ryan and Heather (Alley Mills) somehow managed to conceive Esme (Avery Kristen Pohl). One man’s straight jacket is another man’s turn-on? (No judgments. Enjoy your kinks, whatever they may be.)

GH Spoilers: Double Portion
So how guilty has Kevin felt ever since Ryan escaped and — you guessed it — continued hurting people? People Kevin knew and cared about? Very, very guilty. And how will Kevin express this terrible guilt? Why, by assuming his demented brother’s personality, of course!
Remember when Luke (Anthony Geary) became his cousin Bill (also Anthony Geary)? So, yeah, just like that. We hope Laura (Genie Francis) will recognize the symptoms this time. And get Kevin to a good therapist. Which will be tricky. Since it feels like Kevin is the only one in town. Maybe she can have him committed. And watch the cycle start all over again.
