GH spoilers reveal Willow Tait is on a desperate search for her birth family, so she may find an easy bone marrow match to treat her stage 4 cancer, but she also has no idea her birth family is right in Port Charles, sans her dead father.
Most people assume that eventually, Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) will turn out to be a bone marrow match after Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) finally relents and informs everyone that Nina is Willow’s (Katelyn MacMullen) birth mom. While it would be nice if her twin sister, Nelle Benson (Chloe Lanier), turned out to be alive after all, what if a seemingly-random match is found before then?
As Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) and Willow try to find Willow’s biological family, her doctors are also trying to find a match for her via the National Bone Marrow registry. What if Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) had signed up for the registry years ago and never even thought of the idea that she could be a match for her cancer-ridden OB patient?
With Nina being Willow’s mom, it means she has several family members in town, including Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) as her great-aunt, her own adopted son Wiley Corinthos as her nephew, and Britt, Liesl’s daughter as her second cousin. While cousins are not typically bone marrow matches, for the sake of this soap opera storyline, this will work. However, it will turn out that Britt can’t even be her donor despite being a match due to her new Huntington’s Disease diagnosis.
When Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) learns that Britt is a match for Willow, he will no doubt remember that Harmony Miller (Inga Cadranel) did indeed tell Carly that Nina is Willow’s mother, which would make Britt a blood relation for Willow. Carly directly lied to his face and told him that turned out not to be true, and now she is even happily “helping” him look for Willow’s birth parents. Will Drew finally deduce that Carly has been fibbing while also leading him in the wrong direction on this search every step of the way?
This would certainly put Carly in the hot seat, but it would also force her hand even more when Britt can’t donate her bone marrow and the search for a match must continue. Between Drew questioning her and Carly knowing she has information that can save Willow’s life — while Willow is carrying Carly’s grandchild — will it compel her to finally tell the truth?
Spilling all would certainly blow up Carly’s life at the moment, but if she really wants to prove to the world that her trip to Florida did indeed enlighten her (we have yet to see any evidence that it did), then finally doing the right thing might be a splendid idea. Will it happen all because of Britt’s “random” match for Willow? Think that this wild speculation could come true? Let us know in the comments section below.
