GH spoilers for Thursday, July 1, 2021, reveal a family get-together, a conflicted heart, upsetting news, and so much more. You won’t want to miss a shocking moment of this new episode.
Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) hosts a family get-together to break the news to them about how she plans to handle the growing tension with the rival families. Scratch that, she plans to tell them how she and Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) intend to handle things — and boy will it shock those around them. She lets her family know she has something very important to tell them. But Joss bails on the family’s private party at home and instead heads out to Cameron Webber’s party so she misses hearing that her mom and Jason are getting married!
GH spoilers tease that the tension at the party isn’t just the announcement. Jax (Ingo Rademacher) is there as is Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) and the younger man continues to give his former stepfather the deep freeze. Jax is obviously upset that he remains on the outs with Michael, but his former stepson is quick to point out that he made his choice, now he has to live with the consequences. Oh, snap! Jax’s bad mood continues when Carly asks him to let her tell Joss but huffy Jax walks out on her, making no promises. Bobbie (Jacklyn Zeman) is on hand and knows how much her daughter cares about her BFF but this seems like an odd thing to do. No worries though, Bobbie always supports Carly, right?
Meanwhile, the person the party is also about, Jason, is nowhere to be seen. That’s because he finally has decided to man up and tell Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) what he needs to about his new situation with Carly. He admits his news changes things. Getting married to someone else can do that. Britt handles it as well as you would expect. She kicks him out and once he’s gone, she trashes her hotel room. But then the Britch gathers her things, holds her head up high, and heads out the door. She won’t let Jason keep her down. For his part, Jason is also upset (well, as upset as we ever see him) to have done this to Britt but he knows he’s doing what a mob guy’s gotta do, right?
Trina Robinson (Sydney Mikayla) and Cameron Webber (William Lipton) are ready to celebrate but Trina checks in with her pal to make sure he and Joss Jacks (Eden McCoy) are still good. They are, right? Hmm. Cameron tells her, yes but it doesn’t look like he really believes it. But with no sign of Ava, Trina heads over to the gallery to look for her mentor and friend. Joss, having had a heart-to-heart talk with Jason who doesn’t hold anything against Cameron, decides she doesn’t either and finally makes peace with Cam at his party, letting him know she wants their friendship. He ends up with big dreams of a summer by the lake and while at first, she claims she may not have time, she decides she won’t let her school and volleyball keep her from spending time with her friends.
Meanwhile, Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) is surprised to see Curtis (Donnell Turner) at Cameron’s party — doesn’t he have to start setting things up at his club for Trina’s party? Nah, says Curtis, he is able to be there because he has people working for him who can set up for the party happening at The Savoy — no worries! He’s ready to celebrate the kids and is happy to see her but we’re pretty sure that Stella’s (Vernee Watson) words are still living rent-free in Portia’s head.
Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) confides in his stepfather Kevin Collins (Jon Lindstrom). Must be nice to have a therapist in the family — but it’s not that kind of advice he seeks. He’s set a trap for the stalker at Ava’s gallery and thinks he may just find out the truth tonight. And it won’t be a moment too soon because he won’t risk losing Ava. When the trap snags its prey, Nik lets Kevin know he has to go see what was found. Kevin offers to go with him as backup, but Nik insists on going by himself. Meanwhile, at the gallery where Trina has gone looking for Ava, there is a man in a ski mask skulking about. Is Trina in danger? More like she’s in danger of meeting her probable new love interest if our guess as to who the intruder/stalker turns out to be true. Someone arrives and startles Trina, but it’s probably just Nikolas with the actual intruder making a getaway.
Speaking of her, Ava Jerome Cassadine (Maura West) receives upsetting news but is that before, during, or after she speaks with her BFF? Ava asks Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) if she thinks she’ll be with Mike. She sees no reason she can’t have Mike and a relationship with her grandson Wiley. After all, he’s just a bartender and should be able to find work anyplace — even in Port Charles. Nina tells Ava she’s conflicted — but that there’s no way she can have both. That’s what happens when you don’t tell anyone where you live that one of its most famous citizens isn’t really dead and that you’ve been romancing him in secret. You get conflicted! But things are so great with Mike (Maurice Benard), um, Sonny, um, oh my what a mess.
