General Hospital Spoilers Speculation: Has Kevin Been Ryan All Along?

General Hospital spoilers show the soap doesn’t have much planned for Kevin and Ryan yet when it returns, but fans now have a sure-fire way to tell good twin Kevin from bad twin Ryan (both played by Jon Lindstrom). Bad Ryan is now missing a hand. That’s a tough thing to fake.

But, back in the early 1990s, when Ryan was first cutting his swath of terror through Port Charles, the twins were downright identical. (Hey, in 2019 they were still so identical that Laura couldn’t tell her husband had been replaced by his lookalike. And Ava couldn’t tell the difference, either.)

So… we’ve got to ask… how do we know that, back in the 1990s, it was actually Ryan who was presumed dead and later, got carted off to the mental institution, and not Kevin?

People Will Live Up To Your Expectations

A Simpsons Halloween episode featured an out-of-time tale where Bart learned that his twin brother, Hugo, was identified as evil at birth. Marge and Homer chained up Hugo in the attic, and he was now a physically and mentally deformed demon stalking the family. Except, oops! Turned out they’d made a mistake! Bart was the evil twin, after all. Hugo just became one because that’s what being chained up in an attic will do to a boy.

What if the guy they put away for stalking Felicia (Kristina Wagner), kidnapping baby Maxie, and leaving a couple of bodies lying around was actually Kevin? And Ryan was the one who went on to marry Lucy (Lynn Herring), and then Laura (Genie Francis)?

Living With the Consequences

A locked up Kevin went crazy and became homicidal after being treated as one for over 20 years, while Ryan, when no longer treated as a monster and thanks to the love of several good women, became a sane – appearing – person.

We can tell them apart now because of the missing hand, but is the handless (and kidney-less) wonder Ryan… or the original Dr. Kevin Collins? General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
