The mob has been a key part of General Hospital ever since Luke Spencer opened the campus disco. Its successor, Sonny’s strip club, was also just the first step to ultimate Port Charles domination. Sonny ran the docks and kept the bad mobsters out of his territory for decades.
General Hospital Spoilers Wild Spec
But then, alas, he got a bad case of amnesia – as common as the flu in daytime – and ended up as poor humble wage slave, Mike. Except being Mike has increased Sonny’s decency even more, and now we can’t imagine him ever going back to his old life, even if/when he does learn who he really is.
Breaking News
Whether it’s Nina (Cynthia Watros) who fills him in on his true identity, Jason (Steve Burton) who finds him due to their unbreakable bond, or Carly (Laura Wright), whose love restores his memory, we can imagine a Sonny/Mike hybrid (SMike) who is horrified to learn what he has been responsible for in the past – drugging teenaged girls and turning them into strippers, taking money from hard-working small business owners, killing people…
Better Man
Sonny (Maurice Benard) may have been cool with all of that, but not SMike! Luckily, SMike will be the best of both men. He’ll have Mike’s decency and sympathy for the common man, with Sonny’s ability to compartmentalize.
SMike will turn all his ruthlessness on the Port Charles mob and destroy it – while continuing to believe he’s a good person who only wants to live a simple, small-town life.
Cleaning Fire
SMike will drive Cyrus (Jeff Kober) and the rest out of Port Charles (earning Laura’s thanks), and then he and Jason will turn on their loyal foot soldiers. (Though not through murder, of course. He will offer them job retraining. They’ll all learn to code.) He will lead a reformed criminal revolution! General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
