General Hospital spoilers for September 8-11, 2020, reveal a heartbreaking week in Port Charles. It’s clear Mike does not have much time left and the Corinthos family has to prepare to bid goodbye.

Mike’s condition has been deteriorating for months. Sonny was going to have him put on a feeding tube to prolong his life but was eventually talked out of it. He did give him a wonderful day at the track last week but he also knows the end is near.
This week the Corinthos family prepares to say goodbye to Mike Corbin and even Stella Ashford (Vernee Watson) returns to town to see her former client and old friend. Josslyn (Eden McCoy) says her own very special farewell and Sonny tells a crying Mike he can go whenever he wants. Michael (Chad Duell) and Carly (Laura Wright) are also there for this man they love.

It’s clear Mike doesn’t want to leave his family but he knows he can’t hold on much longer. The Alzheimer’s has taken its toll and Stella warns Sonny it won’t be long until he is gone. We can see Daytime Emmy-winning scenes coming up for Maurice Benard and Max Gail this week, two performers who have already won Emmys for this story.
Alzheimer’s and the effects it can have on a family have also been playing out on The Young and the Restless where Abbott matriarch Dina has been suffering from the disease. Her children have been suffering along with her as her condition has grown worse over the years.
