General Hospital spoilers for Tuesday, July 23, focus on characters attempting to work through their issues, hash out family matters, and support those closest to them.

Solid As a Rock

With this week’s promo featuring all-out war, let’s first highlight something positive, like a son supporting his mother. Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) is always a pillar of strength, but occasionally, she needs someone to stand by her. In the last few years, she’s lost Luke (Anthony Geary) and her friend Gregory (Gregory Harrison). She is dealing with concerns that come with getting older when it’s natural to feel lost and lonely.

Lately, she’s been making an effort to connect with others. For example, she has a new friend in Stella (Vernee Watson), plus she’s bonded with Cody (Josh Kelly) and even Gio (Giovanni Mazza). However, sometimes, a person must turn to someone closer for help. Teasers suggest Ned (Wally Kurth) shows up for his mother. He supports Tracy through whatever she’s currently feeling.

Crunch Time

Anna’s quest to out Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) as the man behind Pikeman hit a snag when Charlotte (Scarlett Fernandez) returned to town. Subsequently, Anna (Finola Hughes) gave Jason (Steve Burton) the evidence against the Cassadine, but she asked for two hours to warn Valentin so he could escape Port Charles with this daughter. Jason gave them as much time as he could, but, in the end, he handed the incriminating sat phone over to Cates (Adam J. Harrington). Now, Jason takes the time to update Anna on what’s going on from his side of things.

Look for Agent Cates to put pressure on Ava (Maura West). He wants to help her take down Sonny (Maurice Benard), but he has to know about Ava’s shadier tendencies. So, is Cates all in on teaming up with Ava? Or does he take a step back and look at the big picture? (Check out Soap Hub‘s GH Weekly Update here)

Crucial Conversations

Meanwhile, Carly (Laura Wright) meets up with Sonny. Let’s make an educated guess. Will the exes talk about the Jason factor? On that footbridge, Jason told his bestie he wanted to get back in with Sonny, especially since Cates is currently teaming up with Ava to work against him. Does Carly try to bulldoze Sonny into making this happen? More importantly, how does Sonny respond? (Learn about the latest GH Comings & Goings here)

Finally, Kristina (Kate Mansi) and Michael (Chad Duell) discuss family matters. After all, there’s a lot to talk about. There’s her surrogacy, her drama with Blaze (Jacqueline Grace Lopez) and Natalia (Eva LaRue), and Ms. Ava Jerome now that she’s working against Sonny. Michael is sure to bring up his most recent conversation with Sonny. Do Kristina and Michael draw any conclusions from this chat? Or do they come up with more questions?
