General Hospital spoilers for Wednesday, May 20, 2020, reveal a day of fortunes turning — or are they? You won’t want to miss a moment of this explosive episode.
Julian (William deVry), still smarting from his confrontation with Sonny and Jason, collects his bride for court and lets her know that losing is not an option for them. Nelle (Chloe Lanier) is happy to have him on board, especially when things start to sway her way in court. Carly’s (Laura Wright) credibility is questioned but that’s not all.
Martin (Michael E. Knight) is right there when Michael (Chad Duell) takes the stand and defends his actions. After all, Nelle isn’t the only one with a recent quickie marriage. So when Martin asks him point-blank if he loves his wife Willow (Katelyn MacMullen), what will Michael say? He did swear to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but, right?
Sonny (Maurice Benard) is also seeking the truth: He wants answers. While Jason (Steve Burton) lets him in on what Liz had to say, he can only tell his best friend what he would want if it were him in that bed. It’s pretty much what everyone has been trying to get Sonny to realize– it may be time to let his father go. But can Sonny do it?
Sonny’s eyes are off the prize — getting rid of Cyrus (Jeff Kober). But that can’t be said of the mayor. Laura (Genie Francis) gets a visit from Lulu (Emme Rylan). Laura confides her plans in her daughter but it has Lulu questioning her mom — is she really prepared to do what she plans to do next? Perhaps Laura doesn’t feel like she has a choice.
Laura’s son has a choice to make — and neither is what he wants. Ava (Maura West) continues to wonder what her husband wants: Will Nikolas (Marcus Coloma) choose a life with his son or his fortune? Nik has a plan he has been working and he just needs a bit more time to get Ava to break their post-nup… not that he’s going to tell her that.
Franco (Roger Howarth) surprises Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) at GH with flowers, trying to make sure everything he bragged about his marriage to Nikolas is true. When he shows his insecurity in that special way Franco does, Liz tries to put his mind at ease, saying her feelings are complicated for Nik… like his are for Ava. Um, oops?
