An Unexpected Conversation
Up until now, there hasn’t been much interaction between Trina (Tabyana Ali) and Isaiah (Sawandi Wilson). It’s not Trina’s fault. For obvious reasons, a pregnant Portia (Brook Kerr) had to keep her affair with Dr. Gannon under wraps.
Isaiah is very patient and understanding. So there’s no need to think that this conversation will go sideways or turn into a confrontation. He probably wants to create an environment where Trina and Portia can get back to the way they once were.
There may be some resistance or some resentment on Trina’s end of the discussion, however. Maybe not the vitriol she showed with Jordan (Tanisha Harper), but there’s a part of her that would rather have her parents reunite. But that’s not an option here.
Portia has shown that she has no time for Curtis’s double standards and would rather be in a relationship with someone who gets her and is there for her alone. How will this Trina and Isaiah conversation unfold?
Another Clash is Brewing
It really feels like we’re headed for another pivotal moment when Sidwell (Carlo Rota) will have to exert his leverage to get people to do what he wants. And right now, what’s at stake is Drew’s empty congressional seat.
Weekly spoilers reveal that Laura (Genie Francis) calls a press conference. This could be about something Sidwell-related, or about potentially announcing Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) as her choice to complete Drew’s term as the congressman of the great state of New York. However, the teasers also suggest that Sidwell plays hardball.
He thinks that Drew’s wife, Willow Cain (Katelyn MacMullen), should fill her husband’s seat. So if this press conference is about Drew’s seat, whose name will she announce? Because Sidwell always has to have his way in everything. And he’ll do whatever it takes to make it happen.
And look for Alexis to be thrown. She probably learns that Willow is her competition for Drew’s seat. The problem is that Alexis knows something huge about Willow. And while shooting Drew (Cameron Mathison) may endear her to Sidwell, the people of New York are a different story. And this would provide another dilemma for Alexis. Should she go public with what she knows or blow up her career and her ability to take care of Scout (Cosette Abinante)?
The Debriefing
Surprisingly, Sonny (Maurice Benard, who talks about why Sonny and Justine click) may not have anything to do with the brouhaha over Drew’s congressional seat. He doesn’t have the time, anyway. He’s either angsting over his recent kiss with Justine (Nazneen Contractor), or he needs to worry about Michael (Rory Gibson).
On Thursday, he and Jason (Steve Burton, who’s about to take a temporary hiatus from GH) make time for a debriefing. Jason has been busy, too. Most recently, he had a conversation with Jack (Chris McKenna), and then WSB Director Ross Cullum (Andrew Hawkes) questioned him.
And there were decisions he and Britt (Kelly Thiebaud, who appears on Benard’s State of Mind this week) had to make for their next moves. Either Jason is telling Sonny what they are, or he’s getting advice from Sonny about the validity of their decisions.
