General Hospital spoilers for December 22, 2023, features festive traditions, grand gestures, and possibly a lump of coal for Cyrus. Do not miss this very special holiday episode.
It’s Christmas in Port Charles, and thanks to her amnesiac status, Esme (Avery Kristen Pohl, read what she has to say about her character here) has mostly been a good girl this year. Her motherly instincts kicked in, allowing her to do whatever it took to take care of Ace (Jay and Joey Clay). She rebuilt her life and then moved them out of Laura’s (Genie Francis) place and into an apartment of her own.
All is right and bright in Esme’s world. But now that she’s remembering her past, will she continue to slay or revert to the Grinch she once was? More importantly, when she makes a grand holiday gesture to Spencer (Nicholas Alexander Chavez), will he rejoice or reject her gift? And if he does reject it, will she react like the Esme of old?
With the holiday season come celebrations and traditions. Once again, family, friends, coworkers, and patients gather at GH for the annual reading of The Night Before Christmas. Since Monica (Leslie Charleson) recently appeared to weigh in on Finn’s (Michael Easton) lawsuit, will she be the one to read the holiday tale for the kids?

Meanwhile, Carly (Laura Wright) is surprised, which is something that’s been happening a lot to her lately. After all, John Brennan (Charles Mesure) continually popped up in front of her at Kelly’s or in the park, wanting to get to know the ex-wife of Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard). What’s the source of this latest surprise? Will it have something to do with Drew (Cameron Mathison)? Or something else?
In contrast to all the good cheer generated at Christmas, Jordan (Tanisha Harper) deals with someone decidedly more toxic. Yes, she’s about to put Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) on notice. It’s possible the deputy mayor is simply trying to prevent the naughty ex-con from breaking bad this holiday season. Sure, he’s been on his best behavior as of late. But how long will that last? Obviously, she can’t trust the town Scrooge, especially with all the lurking and smirking he’s been perpetrating.
Finally, Molly (Kristen Vaganos) and TJ (Tajh Bellow) were dealt a blow when they realized how unrealistic their expectations were for the next phase of their surrogacy journey. The couple had high hopes that, with Kristina’s help, a pregnancy could happen within the next couple of months. Immediately, they knew they didn’t want Kristina (Kate Mansi) to put her life on hold for them. Clearly, Kristina’s on a mission to give her sister the gift of life because she makes a case to Molly and TJ. Will they really listen to what she has to say?
