A Christmas Risk
After all, there are those who might not be in the mood to celebrate, while others have missions and agendas to fulfill. Carly (Laura Wright), for one, is hiding the wanted fugitive, Valentin (James Patrick Stuart), in her attic. They are collaborating on bringing down Jack Brennan (Chris McKenna, who recently appeared in an emotional episode of Maurice Benard’s State of Mind).
Look for Carly to make a risky move. This could simply be about having people over to her house for the holiday, knowing full well that Valentin could be discovered. Or it could be a more dangerous move. Something that brings her and Valentin one step closer to taking down Brennan.
Christmas Support
Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) is another one who may not be feeling the Christmas spirit. As acting police commissioner, he is under pressure. His personal life is not that much better. He and Rocco (Finn Carr) are in a slightly better place, but there’s still a distance.
When it comes to parenting, he is making the wrong choices, and he needs to figure out why he’s doing this and how he’ll make things better for the people in his life and for himself. He needs to get his family life back on track with Rocco and with Gio (Givoanni Mazza).
Thankfully, his dad steps up to the plate as Sonny (Maurice Benard, who’s celebrating life, mental health, and inner peace) counsels Dante. Granted, Sonny’s life is a freaking mess as well. But he usually gives Dante good parental advice.
Christmas Blessings and Amendseee
Ruh roh. If Trina (Tabyana Ali) is making amends, that means she now knows about her mom’s affair with Isaiah (Sawandi Wilson) and that the baby daddy status is uncertain until a paternity test is conducted.
So she may make amends with Curtis (Donnell Turner) and Jordan (Tanisha Harper). After all, she had recently spotted her dad and Jordan kissing, a fact that made her livid. She hasn’t been too kind to Jordan. But she understandably chose Team Mom.
In reality, things between Curtis and Portia (Brook Kerr) were way more complex, and Trina wasn’t privy to the entire story. Meanwhile, does she remember that she’s keeping a whopper of a secret from her parents? When will she finally admit it?
Finally, look for Nina (Cynthia Watros) and Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) to count their blessings. For some reason, Liesl still hasn’t really forgiven Britt (Kelly Thiebaud) for not telling her about faking her death. If she’s counting her blessings, she might want to rectify her relationship with her daughter. Whether she likes it or not, Britt is one of those blessings.
