General Hospital Spoilers August 7: Portia Holds Onto Hope

General Hospital spoilers for Wednesday, August 7, focus on loyalty, hope, and concern.

Hope

Portia’s focus this summer has been on Heather (Alley Mills) staying in jail for as long as possible. After all, the woman targeted Trina (Tabyana Ali) in the name of Esme (Avery Kristen Pohl). And that is unacceptable and unforgivable. To her, a cobalt-poisoned hip replacement doesn’t excuse any of her actions. At one point, she admitted to Curtis (Donnell Turner) that she would even attempt to get Laura (Genie Francis) recalled from her position as mayor. Anything to keep Heather behind bars.

Well, we haven’t heard much from Portia (Brook Kerr) ever since that admission. But on Wednesday, the good doctor is hopeful. Is she hopeful that she can stop Heather from being freed or hopeful that she can get Laura booted out of office? Or is something else causing her hopeful feelings?

Loyalty

Up next, Trina reiterates her loyalty. What’s interesting here is who she reiterates her loyalty to. Are we actually about to see a scene between mother and daughter? Does the vow of loyalty mean she backs her mom’s Heather agenda? Or does she express her loyalty to her friend and another maternal figure in town? Ava’s in dire need of friends. Does Trina stand by Ava (Maura West)?

Another show of loyalty involves Jason (Steve Burton) rushing to the hospital. He knows Sonny (Maurice Benard) is there going through a parent’s worst nightmare. Despite their relationship being ice-cold these days, Jason must feel he should be there for his old friend. In GH’s weekly video, Jason is standing right next to Sonny. So does that mean Sonny will accept Jason’s comfort? Do these two inch closer to a reconciliation?

Concern

As for Ava, she’s in trouble. First, Anna (Finola Hughes) arrested her because the police may have caught on to one or all of her lies. Teasers suggest Ava has new cause for concern. Does Ava find out that Kristina (Kate Mansi) lost the baby? Because that’s definitely concerning. In fact, the fact that the baby died and Kristina is on death’s door ups the stakes big time.

Finally, Josslyn (Eden McCoy) confides in Carly (Laura Wright). What does she tell her mom? Does she tell her how she jumped to help Kristina at the Metro Court Pool? Does she admit what this emergency situation caused her to feel? Or does she touch on what happened afterward with Dex (Evan Hofer)?
